New Floors

We decided to bite the bullet and put in bamboo flooring on the main level of our house. Nick started 2 weeks ago while Emerson and I were out of town. Unfortunately he hasn't been able to do any work since then because he has had long hours at the hospital and was on call all last weekend. Emerson and I have been living in the basement. It has become our living room, dining room, playroom, laundry room, and office. I've started to feel a little claustrophobic with our living conditions especially because it has been snowing and too cold to go anywhere. It is 5 degrees right now! Thankfully Nick is off this weekend and is going to put all his effort into finishing the floors. Emerson may be a little upset because her climbing gym will no longer be available.

Cabin Fever

Some may think we are crazy, but 35 degress felt warm Saturday afternoon. It has been in the teens with no sun and we were about to go crazy. We decided to go for a walk and play at the park. It really did feel warm...with all our layers on! We can't wait for spring!

My new trick

Emerson is standing! Nick and I have to pretend not to notice her new trick because if we make a big deal about it she gets nervous and falls. Her other trick is when you ask her where her teeth are she does a goofy smile like you see in the picture. Emerson got her first cold. She seems to be coping with it better than Nick and I. It's hard to see your child in pain.

Walking...walking...walking

Meemaw (my mom) is here this week and wanted to buy emerson a walking toy. She loves it! She looks very silly because she doesn't know how to balance the weight of her whole body and tends to get going too fast. She walks around with her mouth wide open while running into everything in sight. Hopefully she will learn how to turn soon, or at least back up because she gets stuck quite a bit. Lots of fun!

Swim Lessons

We started swim lessons today! We are doing the class with our friends Lauren and Jen. I was really nervous about it for two reasons. One because I was scared about putting emerson under water and two because I was scared about putting on a bathing suit. She loved the water and thankfully we didn't have to dunk the babies this class.
