Park...zoo...and friends
I think we have been outside everyday this week because the weather has been gorgeous! Not too hot, not too cold, but just right. We have also spent a lot of time with our friends this week, which is always a bonus. We normally meet once a week, but I think we have seen them three days this week. We went to the zoo today with Emerson's friends Lauren, Finely, and Jackson. And yes, Emerson was stealing Jackson's snacks while he wasn't looking, thankfully his mommy has taught him how to share. It was very crowded, but Emerson was able to see her favorite animal...the elephant. She makes an elephant noise and everything! The park has been great too but Emerson manages to get very, very dirty. I guess it's a sign that she is having a great time. Nick and I have learned that she will walk by herself if she is carrying something. She needs the stability or else she will fall backwards or forwards. It really is amazing to watch and hopefully she will be even better next week!

Finally...spring is here
Emerson and I spent all day outside and it was great! We did lots of walking, swinging and sliding. She hasn't really ever gone down the slide but today she was loving it. As soon as she would go down, she would turn around and start climbing up. She would get about half way up and then need some help. I think she is going through a growth spurt right now because she is eating as much if not more than I am. Yesturday she had two waffles, cereal and fruit for breakfast and today she had 4 1/2 pancakes, cereal, and fruit. She knows about 15 words and it seems like she learns a new one everyday. We're still working on walking. She took her first steps about 2 weeks ago and hasn't had any since. she will walk while pushing something or holding our hands but she doesn't want to do it by herself yet. Stay tuned because I'm sure it will happen soon!

legos...legos everywhere!
Emerson loves legos! She got three sets of legos for her birthday. At first I thought that she wouldn't be interested in them for awhile, but I sure was wrong. We probably play with legos three times a day. She is really good at taking apart whatever Nick or I just built and is getting better at stacking them herself. I have a hard time figuring out how and what to build, but Nick on the other hand is a lego genius. I will be in the kitchen doing something and will look over and he has built a tree,a car,an airplane, a robot, and a bird. I always ask, how did you do that? I am in desperate need of lessons because when it's just me and Emerson, she gets a tower or if she's lucky, a house.
